Beam Smoke Detector DOP-40R
The DOP-40R is a conventional beam smoke detector designed for early detection of smoke at the initial stage of a fire. It is particularly suitable for protecting large areas where the appearance of smoke is expected in the first phase of a fire, and where using a large number of point smoke detectors would otherwise be necessary. The DOP-40R is also recommended for spaces where installation of multiple point detectors is impractical.
This detector features built-in relay outputs for fault and fire alarm conditions, allowing it to operate with various control panels from different manufacturers, as well as in burglar alarm systems.

The DOP-40R consists of an infrared transmitter and receiver housed in a single unit, working in conjunction with a reflector or a group of prismatic reflectors (not included in the standard delivery and ordered separately). The detector analyzes the optical transparency of the air between the detector and the reflector. If a certain amount of smoke is present, reducing transparency, the detector triggers an alarm according to the set sensitivity threshold. A complete interruption of the infrared beam is signaled as a fault condition, while clean air keeps the detector in standby mode. The device features automatic compensation for environmental conditions, ensuring consistent sensitivity and long-term reliability. At a certain level of optical contamination, the detector signals the need for maintenance and cleaning.
During a fire alarm, the detector closes the normally open contacts of the alarm relay. In fault or service modes (such as beam interruption or optical contamination), the detector opens the normally closed contacts of the fault relay. The DOP-40R also allows programming of alarm mode support as needed.
For installation, the detector and reflector(s) should be mounted on opposite stable walls, free from vibrations. Precise alignment is achieved using adjustment screws and a special laser sight (powered by a 6F22 battery, used only during alignment). The highest sensitivity is achieved when the threshold is set to 18%.
