The HDMI-EX-5E/TRF-T HDMI Extender enables you to transmit HDMI signals, including Full HD (1080p), over distances up to 30 meters using a CAT5e/6 twisted-pair cable. This allows you to connect a transmitter (sender) to your HDMI source device (such as a PC, notebook, DVD player, Blu-Ray player, HDTV receiver, Home Cinema System, Xbox/Playstation game console, or camera) and a receiver to your display device (LCD/Plasma monitor, projector, etc.).
This device is equipped with input/output ports for connecting an IR Remote Controller Extension. This feature allows you to control the HDMI source device (e.g., DVD player) from anywhere in your home, near any TV or monitor, even if the HDMI device is hidden out of sight. The compatible IR Remote Controller Extension is the TRF-EX-5E, available separately in our store.
Recommended usage scenarios for the HDMI Extender include:
- When the HDMI signal needs to be transmitted over a distance greater than 15 meters.
- When a UTP cable is already installed at the location.
- For economic reasons, as UTP cable is much cheaper than HDMI cable.
- When installation requirements necessitate the use of twisted-pair cable (HDMI cable is thicker and less flexible than UTP cable).
